freakengine: Back to School Show!!!

You can hear the class bells ringing and the textbooks opening. It's that wonderful time of the year when school starts.

And your FreakEngine family is here to make that transition from the lazy days of summer just a little bit easier with our Back to School Show.

We've got new games, special guests and prizes in store, as well as the best damned improv this side of the Mississippi.

Admission is still only $5, so you can bring your roommates and share in the funny. What else can you do for five bucks and have this much fun?

And if you're not in school, then come on out and relive those glory days of ramen noodles and late nights.

The show is this Friday, September 4th at Midnight at TheatreWorks on Overton Square (2085 Monroe Ave.)

We hope to see you there!

And check out our website at www.memphisfreakengine.com for photos, videos and more.

freakengine: FreakEngine Events Update

Hey kids!

Rather than some long diatribe on how there’s no reason to miss the show just to see a silly concert, I figured that I would just tell you about the next two weeks’ amazing events. Also, If you don’t come to Friday’s FreakEngine Show, terrible things could happen to puppies, kittens and small children might cry. Your choice, folks.

Friday, May 2nd – FreakEngine Cinco de Mayo Show

An event a year in the making, sketch comedy will return to Memphis on May 9, 2008. Don’t miss it. The Wiseguys Sketch Project is made up mostly of members of Wiseguys/FreakEngine, with a little help from their friends. but on May 9, the improv kids had better have their lines memorized.

Saturday, May 10th - 2nd Annual Memphis Improv All-Stars Cage Match
8:00 pm @ TheatreWorksAdmission - $7 at the door, $5 in advance at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/33947.

Following last year’s sold out show, performers from three of Memphis’ improvisational theater shows are joining together again for another group exhibition of improv talent. Members of FreakEngine, The Wise Guys and Running Gag are joining forces for “The 2nd Annual Memphis Improv All-Stars Cage Match”, a competitive improvisational comedy show to be held at 8:00 pm May 10, 2008 at TheatreWorks, located at 2085 Monroe Ave. Admission is $7.

Hosted by MemphisFreakEngine Productions, the event will group the performers in two teams who will then challenge each other to successive rounds of entertaining improvisational comedy games. The show will feature several well-known improv games, made popular by such television shows as “Whose Line Is It Anyway”. Also featured, will be signature games from each of the three represented shows’ line-ups. The winning team will be chosen by the audience.
